what does PS actualy stand for

eg

 

200BHP brake horse power

200PS ?????????????????

I think its do with pressure and means pressure per square inch.

 

I'm not entirely sure myself thoug.

It's the metric equivalent of BHP.. (so yes.. pferdsthingymabob).. more or less the same ish.. sortof.. kinda

Pferdestärke (ps) is german for Horse Power

Cavalli (cv) is Italian for Horse Power

 

As explained on that site, the different countries have different ways to work them out, only slightly though.
