it was a newish MGF and lad about late 20's, just going too fast on a damp road with no ABS

i was suprised there was no damage to the S13 , I was expecting the worst when I saw his front end, his bumper was flat his bonnet was creased and headlights smashed.

get a report done anyway you never know what damage may have been caused by even a small shunt

you were lucky though, my dad's pug was hit in the back last year by a car travvelling 40 in a 30, the impact bent the roof of the pug lol. and the fat bastids chair collapsed

Cant have been that new without ABS?

Gutting :( No matter how little the damage, its all the hassle you have to go through, not to mention your personal injuries. :(

Depends, on the MG ZR, ABS is only standard on the 1.8i. Optional on others.

Thats p0xty being as it is the 21st century. Mine was a ZT admittedly a more well equipt model but ABS was standard throughout the range on that model.

Paul if you need the car looking over just pop down with it, its surprising what damage there can be behind a plastic bumper.

Hope you and the mrs don't suffer too badly, just tell her to think about what she can spend the compo on, I'm sure that will put a smile on her face LOL

Thats gut wrenching mate the last time i got rear ended in a car it was escort xr3i and it just looked like a new light and bumper but being a ford it ended up wiv new fuel pump, jigged, new bumper new rear lights, fuel tank, and a complete exhaust. The car should have been written off but i did that angel assist for £10 and they stuck to this kid like sh*t to a blanket. The worst part was the missus was pregnant and she was shaken up bad, all i got to say to her was "hang on" and then bang he hit us. I made sure she was ok then i took the kid out of his car by his coat and swore at him for a while

Fookin Hairdressers car...with no concept of braking distance/conditions :xxx:

I hope you and your other half dont suffer for too long .... this sort of injury can spring up in a few years time when you think youre over it.

Im just waiting for it to happen to me as theirs twats all over the M25 following way too close with absoloutly no chance of stopping...which is why i see at least two accidents every day on the M25.

Ouch! Sorry to hear that mate :(

Get some filler on the back-end of the S13, that'll sort it out - and it'll match your Z! :x:  :smw:

Seriously though, hope Sharon and yourself are OK and have a good time spending the compensation!

his insurace company have admitted full liability

the S13 is off to be inspected, can they write it off still, if it was totally his fault?

or will they just fix it?

we are both aching and off to the docs again

bet this takes a while to sort out

Sorry chap, regardless of fault, they'll still write it off if they see it unfit for economical repair.

Hope they save it for you. :(

this happened to my dad, hurt his back quite bad. He claimed they offered him £2k, and he told them where to stick it, spend £5k on a good solicitor, got a £1000 mattress, a new car AND £18k in cash (although the guy who hit him was a fleet driver so i assume the large lump sum came off their insurance). Took 3 years to get it, but worth it in the end i think! Would certainly pay for a few improvements to the zed or sx !! so claim claim claim indeedy !
