I use Nissan coolant,as I once read that other coolants did your heater matrix in,and the Nissan one was the best, will see if I can dig it out for you.

I was reading an article in the Z Club Magazine (Winter 2000) by Andrew Webber. He had two heater matrixes go within three months and was trying to claim for the second one which had "shorted" and started leaking. He subsequently found that Nissan were aware of the shorting problem in aluminium heater matrixes and that Nissan recommended that only Nissan anti-freeze be used as this stops the shorting problem.

Apologies to Andrew if he is out there!

I am not sure what shorting means in this context. Is it electrical shorting?
