Anyone got any suggestions for what I can use to clean my plenum? I have a nice shiney one to go on but thats going to have to wait till next year now as I have way too many other things planned but I would like to clean up the old one for now in situ.

Bloody 'ell! in that time you could have taken it off and polished it!!

Tried all sorts on mine, from Spray-on engine decreaser to CIF. Using one of those Washing up sponges scourers, I maneged to get mine a lot cleaner than it was...but still its not like it would of been when new.

That probably looks a bit cleaner than it actually does in real life (becuase of the light from camera flash)

But as soon as you go and put some mileage on it, it quickly gets dull and dirty again and have to do it all over again :(

Reckon its time for a polished one.

what you need is scotch brite for metalwork its looks like a scourer but is designed for removing surface grime grease ect.

you can get it from machine shop suppliers,

much better than the washing up type.

i use scotch brite green all the time to clean up dull stainless ect at work
