Wheel Size Advise Needed Pls.....

Im going to look at a set of alloys this w/e. The size of the alloys is 9x18 all round.

Basically, I know they are fine for the rear but am not sure if they are to wide for the front and therefore will effect the handling of the car greatly?

Can anyone advise on this/ had experience of 18x9j on the front?

Called a couple of alloys wheel shops, however am getting various answers?

You need to have larger tyres on the rear than the front to maintain the steering balance. I reckon 8 or 8.5" on the fronts and 9 or 10" on the rears, depending upon how rich you feel.

Careful mate, listen to Mr. P!!! wink.gif

Don't listen to the alloy wheel shop, they'll just tell you whatever to sell you a set of wheels.

Width is not the same front and back! Wider at the back as Andy states.

your a brave man to try and fit a 9j on the front added to that it will look at bit odd

What are you trying to say Tooley?

I have 9's on the front and 10's on the rear!

I should have mentioned the wheels are off a Skyline R34 and only come in 9j. Will this mess up the handling ?? Should I opt for a different aftermarket setup?

thats why they'll look odd people are always tryin to flog skyline wheels to z owners and the offset always makes them look as if they are sticking out

Ohhh nooo! You don't wanna look like that mini in the old Hamlet cigar ad do you? One where he's got them rediculous wide wheels and tries to go through a set of gate posts? LMAO biggrin.gif Wheels get stuck and the car carries on without 'em biggrin.gif Old ones were the best!!!

that must be carlos fandango if I remember rightly!
