28 or 30mm calipers??? How to tell on early 90's???

Evenin all :duffer:

BbbuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrPP

This link :-

http://www.splparts.com/Parts/Z32/Brakes/Upgrades/default.asp

In the "Big Rotor Upgrade" says about early 90s having 28mm caliper instead of 30mm...

It says:-

"Note: 30mm calipers required, kit does not work with early 90 model 28mm calipers. 17" wheels are required for clearance. This kit has the same offsets as stock brakes, so the kit will fit with any 17" or larger wheels that fit with stock brakes."

I have a 90model...how do i tell...and what part do i measue?

Will this affect whether i can fit r34gtr calipers or their discs and so on????

Thankyou please :D

What Was The Outcome Bud

Courtesy of Smithy

"The US was slightly different to the UK where the early 90 models used the same calipers as our N/A models, you can tell what you have by measuring the thickness of your disc, it should be 30mm or thereabouts as now obviously it's worn."

I'll be out there tommorow with my measuring stick...but i should have the 30mm ones

evening to you matey

so my z being an na has smaller calipers so a big brake conversion (should i ever want one) would be a bit of an arse then :headvswal

Your NA will have smaller front calipers and thiner disks. I think youll find with all the TT boys doing upgrades that TT calipers/ disks are not difficult to come by

eerrmmmm....

I dunno to be honest...lol

if its just the standard caliper relocation for the bigger discs issue then someone somewhere must do them.

otherwise to go straight for a r33/34 gtr conversion should be ok as these would accomodate for them as the mounting holes would still be the same i presume..

but..

to be honest

im just guessing

no worries glad you got it sorted for your z i cant afford new toys like that just yet lol

i need the 18's first

good point mate odd tho they had two different sizes thought they would save cost and make things standard on this sorta thing
