Need to replace the yellow connector in the picture - it's just to the right of the PTU as you're looking into the engine bay.

Fitted a series 2 ptu at the weekend and noticed that the wire casing was looking a bit frail on the yellow connector. Reckon must have damaged one of the connections inside it cause now it feels like I'm running on 5 cylinders. Also noticed the fan wasn't running at all so waggled the wire about which made the fan come on intermittently. Zed now barely starts at all when it's always fired up immediately before. Temperature gauge hasn't moved above normal and there's no sign of oil in the water so I'm fairly confident that it's not blown a head gasket (fingers crossed) while the fan's not been running. Tried some connector cleaner and wire brush as best I can but to no avail so time to go to see Nelson Mandella methinks !

Trouble is I don't know what to ask for ! Is it a temperature sender unit, or a viscous fan connector, or summat else entirely ?

Cheers !
