are these the right pipes?

 

back of the engine, under the cable, two metal pipes come up the turn at a 90 angle, they have the rubber pipes attatched. i just make a u pipe and connect these together?

Yes! :) The sizes can be different, though, so be ready for that. Bad luck on needing to do the bypass :(
