Hi Every one, this is my first time on this site, but I believe you can help me?

 

I have just bought a Black Twin Turbo manual, the only real problem is...it hesitates as you put ur foot down, but if you ease off the accelerator slightly she pulls away!!! but this does not give you much confident's when over taking!!! can any one advise?

 

I have changed, air filter, ECU, PTU, and Throttle body senser with no difference! running on high octane fuel as it's an import, the only thing I haven't done is changed the spark plugs, although she ticks over and runs very smoothly! the ecu that's fitted is a no 36 A18-A33 MAZ does anyone know what this means?

Hello, and welcome to the site.

 

When you replaced the TPS (Throttle position sensor) did you put it back in the right angle? Did you put a multimeter on it when you did put it back on?

 

Have you cleaned the plugs on the sensors? They get covered in sulphur over time and cause it to lose signal strength.

 

Any mods on the car?

duff O2 sensors can cause this, you can check them with a conzult or by doing into diagnostic mode 2 on the ecu.

 

plugs are worth doing, esp if you dont know when they were done last.

 

clean/replace the engine temp sensor & harness

 

also clean the connector to the AFM, or try swapping one if poss

 

same with the plug connectors to the injectors, if they have corroded you can buy kits to solder into the loom

I had the same problem and it showed on consult to be the o2 sensor, now that i disconnected it, it doesn't happen anymore :)

Thanks Guys for repling so promp! you have mentioned the o2 sensor more than once! is this located on the exhaust! if not were do I find it? the plugs are probably my next option, I do have a spare set (lucky me) but not sure how good they are! also can any one tell me what type of ECU I have with a No 36 (A18-A33MAZ) does this mean anything! I am on a learning curve with this machine!!

Thanks again, the problem seems to be clearing! I did adjust the throttle sensor body today cause the tickover was high! having adjusted it to just under 1000 rpm she seemed to go better!

 

Can anyone tell me which type of ECU I have fitted! No 36 (A18-A33MAZ) and what does the adjustment screw do and the back of the ECU? or what would happen if you turned it?

the screw is for the ecu self diagnostics and o2 sensor checks
