take the car out for a drive after leaving it in the drive for 4 days.

 

white smoke out the back, gone in 2 mins of driving.. condesation in exhaust.. ok i say..

 

 

then... grrrrrr!!

 

strange smell coming from car dash vents.... then i notice the screen steaming up, manage to drive home.. and then all i can hear is a sizzling noize.

 

ring ryan.. at this late hour!! sorry ryan.

 

he explains to me that the damn heater matrix has gone, and not to panic (cos im goin nuts now) as its usual. so now tomorrow i gotta disconnect the pipes at the back and put a loop of pipe on them and then refill the coolant.

 

so while on phone ichecked a few other things out with him, brake fluid.. full, power sterrring fluid, fine.

 

clutch fluid.. fkn bone dry!!!!!!!! and my clutch is still fine...

 

so now i gotta re fill that and more than likely bleed it..

 

i found out what the tapping noize was the other day, seems my exhaust pipe was knocking on a metal plate thats bolted under the car, after replacing the rubbers for the exhaust and putting a few washers under the plate all is fine..

 

so at least one damn thing is sorted.. grrr.

 

now the wife who was fine about my car after i got her, her new pug is now referring to it as "that fuc*ing car" again..

 

i tell ya.. i cant win..

youve got off lightly ive had my zed for over a year and still aint ironed out all the probs (i think i need a fooking steam roller lol)

Had mine 5 years and just about got it sorted after spending £15K on it! :o LOL

 

Cheapest way to a reliable Z:

 

1, Go to scrap dealer.

2, Buy rust free shell.

3, Go to Nissan dealer.

4, Buy every component part of the car.

5, Build yourself a new Z.

6, Don't EVER drive it :x: :rofl:

right quick update..

 

bought some dot4 brake/clutch fluid, put it in and it only needed a small amount to reach the max level say about half a cupfull.

 

and it was full, so i pressed on the clutch a few times and left the top off no loss, put the top on and did it again still no oss, bearing in mind i didnt have any clutch problems seems it was just a little low ;), im leaving it overnight to see if it drops.

 

anyone got any suggestions onwhat to check if it does drop overnight?

bypass the heater matrix.. got pipe and jubilee clips, now i havent got any 22mm copper pipe or 90degrees corners , gotta get em tomorrow and then i can do the bypass, then its off with the fkn dash and out with the old matrix...

anyone got any suggestions onwhat to check if it does drop overnight?

yeah check under the gearbox there is a little rubber pipe that joins the copper pipes that run down the back of the engine, it goes to the gearbox.

 

it burst on mine and i lost my clutch, worth checking
