friend has 1 and tomtom5 seems to work well on it,

Have a 6600 and am about to try it to see if it works (aparently if it does it will work on SPV)

Am ferked if I will pay 299 euros for sat nav so thought I would try 'This' route.

Anyone else had a go?

If it works will get me a card reader/writer.

Will provide backups purely for testing of course

cheapest on E bay 27 + delivery!!

Do like th eSPV c500 Though...same shape as me Volvo....

I've got one. My only real complaint is that I've got quite a bit of dust in under the screen. It seems to be a fairly common complaint, so they may have fixed it by now.

TomTom5 seems to work fine on it, although I haven't had a chance to test it much as my bluetooth GPS receiver only showed up today!

Anyone have a "backup" of Tom they can "show" me ?

It's big but a PM may procure a copy of the files required...

ferk....just paid for a backup on good old e bay.

What GPS reciver r u using?

A BT-338, which is one of the new SiRF Star III ones. That apparently means it locks onto a signal much quicker and scans more satellites than the older ones.

For net use I tend to use my C500 as a bluetooth modem with my HP iPaq.. Not used it for sat nav yet but i like the idea :D

I got the SPVc500

got a 1gb mini sd card with tomtom on it.

running a bluetooth tomtom gps receiver (Ebay £85).

works brilliantly.

There's a new firmware update available from Orange too. According to Orange -

You can improve the performance of your SPV C500 by downloading the new ROM update. This will give you the following benefits:

Windows Media Player 10

Compatibility with THB car kit

Just make sure you backup all your contacts and other data before you apply it though!

Thought you could only get that done at one of those service centres?
