today the small fan fitted in the roof bar (at the front just behind the 2 spot lights) started rattling and squeeking and really annoying me.

so i thought i'll turn the aircon off, but the fan kept going, basically the fan runs as soon as i turn the ignition on. is this right?

i asume the small component stuck on the bottom of the fan unit is the temperature sensor for the headspace of the car for the automatic aircon but why have the fan blow at the temp sensor? maybe the temp sensor is nackerd and causing the fan to run constantly , but i would have thought all fans should stop irespective when you press the aircon off button???

i think you can remove cover and clean it,that should shut the squaking up,if that fails it might be the hamster running around inside the turbo on his wheel

just up the boost if this is the case he will have to run faster causing him to get fatigue and hopefully have a heart attack hope that helps

dismantle it ,and oil it ,mine was making a right din prob much the same as yours ,it cured it.

Mine started making a quiet but constant squeal after being parked up in the rain.

Dismantling and greasing didn't help but it went away after a day or two by itself.

Edit - the fan runs all the time when the ignition is switch on.
