ok, since getting back from jae, can hear gurgling coming from both front wings.

after a lookie through some old posts i gather this is a pcv problem.

i also gather there has been alot of conversation on the removal of pcv's

could someone please answer a few questions for me cos i read through all the posts my mind was swimming with different information!! (or was that swimming with beer? :duffer: )

when the pcvs gurgle what is actually wrong with them???

what do they actually do!!!

what benefits are there from removing them???

what is involved (cost time and parts wise) with replacing/repairing them???

what is involved in removing them???

I think its more likely to be your AIV's mate ;)

You can only remove them if you have de-catted your exhaust system.

PCV's will normally vent oil into the system thus smoking a bit...normally if you rev the engine lots at standstill :D

thank you muchly!!!

What happens if you remove the AIV valves with the Cats still fitted?

Not sure fella...

I think its all something to do with the cooling of the de-cats

I think the AIV's open to allow clean air into the Cat to help it burn off unwanted fuel. The oxygen helps the chemical reaction.
