can anyone put together a few ideas on how to do a nice spray job on my bike

 

gonna have a go with cans to start with as a motorbike only has small panels appreciate the best way is to use spray gun but thats at a later date.

 

I know some basics but if anyone could do me a little list dont I have to put a plastic undercoat paint on bikes to make the paint bite...?

 

had a go the once and got a lovely finish but then a bit of petrol went on it and it flared up how do I stop this?

 

ie:

 

1. prepare with 1200 wet and dry etc

2. primer to see imperfections

3..

4..

3. Use knifing putty to sort minor blemishes.

4. Rub down.

5. Build up primer layer till you see no imperfections/apply knifing putty again (if needed) and rub down.

5. Build up paint in layers.
