Is Jap spec ECU same as Uk Spec ECU??

I think my ECU has packed up and I need to know if a jap spec Manual ECU is the same as a UK spec Manual ECU???

The chip definitely is not the same I'm afraid although I don't know whether a Jap chip in a UK ECU would be OK. Probably not worth the risk unless you can do sale or return. Are you sure it's the ECU itself - never heard of one going before.

Thanks for the reply Hairsy. How's the TVR going???. Had one blast past me the other day, jeez they sound great don't they!!!

 

Cheerz for the kind offer Glen M8. I have managed to track down a UK Spec ECU (Luckily!!!)so will see if that works. Cost £250.00, still hell of a lot cheaper that the £900.00 nissan wanted. BTW Glen don't you dare sell that car, my Zed will be all sad and alone on the IOW then!!!! Speak to ya soon M8.

TVR is still going great but I need to save some money so it's up for sale. Doesn't stop me enjoying it while no-one is buying coz it's so bleedin' cold though !

 

And after all, TVRs are so much better than Zs.
