I have seen some Xbox 360 shots of Gotham Racer 3 and I cant believe the difference.

Don't believe everything you see of realtime images before you get the finished product :D Alternatively, look at how good Vision Gran Turismo looks, and they haven't even updated the car models yet!

 

turbopsychosis, the Cell processor is basically the PS3s CPU, its actually nothing to do with the graphics chip but it probably has been responsible for producing most of the imagery seen for the PS3 so far (just like older computers produced their graphics with the CPU before 'graphics chips' came along. The PS3's graphics chip is whole other monster entirely, and once that starts getting used, keep a firm grip on your jaw :D

The cars on GT4 are good but these car models are miles better. I have read reviews saying that Fonza Motorsport has better car models than GT4 but not the depth, so GT4 can easily be beaten.

 

The chip wont be anything special. They would have bought and used a motorola chip or something.

True, the graphics hardware isn't that special, its just two next gen Nvidia cards bolted together in SLI. What is special is the rate it can get data back and forth to that hardware as well as the transfer rate to the cell's subprocessor cores, its fecking ridiculous, it makes the 360 look like a wheezing dinosaur. (Btw. Im still gonna buy all 3 again).

 

Interesting fact: Microsoft desgined the 360 with two Power PC chips, thats why the 360 Dev-kits only have 2 processors. When they found out about the PS3's capabilities they quickly added another in panic, even with 3 parallel processors the PS3 is still in front.

Yeah, my money says the PS3 is going to kick the 360's butt in terms of tech. Just remains to be seen which has the better range of games, but here again I think I'd plump for the PS3. Those screenshots are fantastic though.

I dont think it will beat the XBox in terms of tech spec. there is no way both compaies will give every single spec detail about their machines.

BTW, please can everyone stop buying the PAL versions of consoles and get the NTSC ones instead

revolution and 360 for me. there are only a few games on the playstations that you cant get on the other systems or pc and those games dont intrest me so it was bye bye ps and ps2. xbox do produce the best games no doubt and thats not a bias opinion i have owned all the next gen machines dreamcast,ps2,xbox,gamecube,panasonic Q and the xbox takes all my time, that and talking to you guys and gals. i just hope the new systems arent an excuse to make rehash of old games with better graphics i think the games industry is in a rut at the moment churning out the same games. thats my opinion after 20 years of gaming

There isn't really any doubt remaining which machine has technical superiority, but of course that rarely decides anything. The XBox monstered the PS2 in techspec but the PS2 had the games. With this generation the tech is the other way around, and apart from the fanboys (like me :D) people are gonna get the machine that has the games they want to play.

the ps3 beats the specs of the xbox, the specs have been released, but whether the specs can be put into action is another debate due to a few bottle necks.

 

one of my freinds has a ps3 devkit at work, I'm waiting to hear from him how it all pans out

Xbox 360 is already Dead.. There will always be people who prefer Xbox Stuff to PS3 but the Cell Processor is something sepcial & it's new technology.. Don't forget PS3 is gonna be using the latest BluRay technology we're the 360 is still only in nappies on DVD...

What is the point of having DVDs which hold 32Gig of information? I dont think there is a game which uses the full 4.7gig of a normal DVD let a lone the 8Gig+ of a dual layered DVD.

 

People keep going on about this Cell Processor. Any one had first hand experience with it?
