Anyone know the best way to get the zeds engine nice and sparkly again??? I would have guessed steaming it would be god darn crazy but wondered if anyone had any ideas!??

 

well i tend to leave the engine cold spray engine cleaner on it.

take toothbrush and scrub then take a hosepipe and let it just trickle with water. Then start the engine and let it warm up, always worked a treat for me.

 

Nothing worse than a dirty engine, it looks kak.

I use a wire brush , toothbrush, rag and carb cleaner,

 

Altho you have to be carefull not to knacker anyof the electrical connections.

 

Just do what i did - take the engine out - its well worth it for a clean engine.

no insult intended jeff. But i still cant see what all the fuss is about. So the bay is clean but there are alot cleaner engine bays around then that one?

The engine shot from the US is well impressive and no amount of cleaning and shining etc could I get my engine to look like that unless a lot of ££££ss were involved..and that`s the point that Timmy, Cos and all are getting at I think.Mine was at the time a totally standard engine that I spent ONLY £10 in cleaning products on but about a TWO WEEKS in effort!

 

Throwing big bucks at a project is easy if you have it, however ever noticed that often the guys who do this also have lilly white hands.

 

I appreciate the nice comments made here about my efforts and support,its been good to have an interesting thread eh? even if it did go a little off the original question.

How lond to they stay in decent condition?

I've got a place around here that anodizes for like nothing. I didn't think it was durable on ojects that get hot like that.( my turbo sits right under my intake man.)

My advise to clean the engine has been covered many times and is a basic water based degreasent a couple of stiff brushes, a couple of long reach toothbrushes oh... and a couple of weeks.

 

300z please ensure you read the thread fully as I would not want to see you embarrass your self again.
