i no ,someone had this as an avatar,,,, but,, on way home from z tech on m25 cruising at 75mph,, at low revs, because i just had new turbos fitted etc etc, feeling great, got her back after her sitting on drive for 2 months, when a loud grinding noise was heard i looked around thought is that me when the steering went very hard and lost all drive, no engine, all lights on dash , got her to hard shoulder, ,, no turn over just one click like a sound of dead battery ,, but battery is fine,, pacth of oil under her too:shock: :confused: :shock: :cry: :cry: :cry: ,,

I was in a red zed with dark windows so you probably couldn't see the kayak in the car with me! My sideways vision was a bit restricted, so rapid lane changing wasn't really possible. ;)

Buying the zed was the worse decision ive made after getting married LOL. Mind you both ruin you financially and give you a headache.

yep but the zed always put a smile on me face, ,except for those drunken nights ,, ie the missues , lol too much detail again , dolt,. only trouble is to give up now would be silly,, only thing left is the auto box,, nuts shouldnt of said that,, or the diff or prop shaft, or loom ,, hmmmm , ,i no it will be worth it in the end ,there is light at the end of the tunnel , just hope its not a train coming the other way

:( When we got the car back it was quite obvoius she was seized solid so empted out the oil to find nearly 5 litres of coolant followed by 4 litres of oil which hit the oil pan, this can only be down to cracked block or head gasket failure across a water/oil way. Until we can get the engine stripped down we will not be able to find out what is salvageable and if it was the block or the heads , both will need pressure testing etc to find the culprit.

 

The oil on the floor is where there has been such a build up of pressure in the crankcase because of the water it took out the rear main seal :(

 

Shame as she ran really sweet with the new tubs that we fitted and back on all 6 cylinders

 

just to note the work we carried out for Paul was Turbo replacement, big end bearing examination and change, seal replacement on all seals, the engine was never stripped or taken apart.
