Help required PLEASE!!!!!!

Sorry to post this in the general forum and the tech forum guys but I really need some thoughts or advice on the following.

My Zed Has developed a big problem. The car seems to be retarding the ignition and running safety boost. Also when I turn the ignition on the little fan infront of the main fan is on constantly. I have tried to do an ECU diag test but the LED light is just constantly on!!!!!!. I have tried to clean and wiggle the Temp sensor to see if this sort the fan out but no luck. I am really at a loss here and would be very grateful guys for any help or advice as to what I should be looking for to sort this out.

Simon,

Don't have an answer really but the fan will come on if the ECU isn't operating properly - it's the default setting if the ECU isn't telling it what to do. As is safety boost and retarded ignition.

It might just be worth trying disconnecting the ecu and checking that the connectors are OK. Or perhaps disconnect battery for a couple of hours to allow a full reset ?

Good luck

Dave

Hi Simon,

The easiest way to diagnose this is by using the Consult Diagnostics software by Nissan.

Dazza who is on this forum can do this for you, he is a Nissan Technician and a proud 300Z owner too.

I hope you're able to sort it out yourself from help from guys here, I wish I could help you.

If your'e still in the dark and he is near you, not sure where you are, he is worth considering. (mmm that sounds a bit like the A team). He isn't pricey either. He is very good value and a top banana.

Just my thoughts.

Hope you get it sorted soon mate.

Might be a long shot but check out the ecu connector is seated correctly, me and Danny witnessed a flashing ecu light today when th ecu connector appeared to be connected ok but removal and reinsertion and re tighten (not too much) cleared the fault completely.

Worth a go.

Thanks for the Help Guys!!!
