I've only got a NA (Auto) and I'm not much of a boy-racer, so I don't get many opportunities to race people at traffic lights. but yesterday evening I had to stop for a pedestrian crossing, I glanced over to my right and saw that someone had pulled up next to me, I didn't notice what make of car it was at the time, but I did flick the POWER switch on!

The lights turn amber and we're off, we were neck and neck for the first couple of seconds (I presume this is because he had a manual) but then I pulled clear of him no worries.

After we had both slowed down again for speed cameras he sped away from me dangerously and went around a roundabout on 2 wheels.

OK it was only a 320i but it was on a 2004 plate.

He must have been upset that his £16k worth of car had been beaten by a battered 13 year old car!

I'm still smiling now. :nana2:

Great feeling isn't it... Had an S2000 right up my rear on the way home from filling up at my local Shell, I pulled over and heard him go for it then I put my foot down and burned off... he pulled off at the next turn off, was obviously doing the same as me, running around with the roof off looking for some fun hehe

And mine is constantly in safety boost... if only he'd known ;)

Smoked a civic last week he had all the gadgets and thought i would be good to race...... oops no dont think so there is no way i would spend over £20,000 on a car just to get p*ssed on by a 10 year old zed. :mac1: :hyper: :hyper:

although I doubt anyone that buys a £20k new car, would expect to beat a 10 year old supercar that cost almost twice as much as their car 10+ years ago

i like to smoke 350z's....fun when you get comments from thier owners along the lines of...wow what modifications have you done....and the reply is none just a stock car..

My Auto NA is not the greatest from a standing start so it is nice to beat anyone, but the majority of BMW drivers have their head up the @rses.

even the ones with 1.6 engines.

The fools, will they ever learn?

This kiddy did he had the spoon sh*t in it revvin up to abou 25,000 rpm sounded like a fookin bee in me cockpit thought he was that kid in fast and furious.... obviously the one that lost!!!!

is there not a palce on here for what people have beaten, and been beated by. all this racing was done on private roads.

had an M3 tailgating me the other day, i moved over and chap who was driving went past grinning needless to say i soon wiped the grin off his face big style lol

had a nice 911 last week - cudnt pull away from me through the gears and as soon as he hit his 155mph limit i pulled past him!! look on his face was a picture!!

lol that's a good one... sucks to be limited eh?

I enjoy smoking all sorts!

Seriously, don't underestimate a NA auto. It's not the fastest car out there but it's not slow.

I took my Zed (NA, auto, 2+2, targa, standard*) to Santa Pod and got a 15.8 on my first run which isn't bad.

An auto TT beats a manual TT to 100mph (no figs for NAs).

And an NA is probably easier to launch quickly than a TT.

*Which probably makes it the slowest car on the forum!

I have just bought a n/a manual zed and took it for a drive to torquay and I have noticed that every smartass wants to race and beat the zed..this old dude with his wife in a red convertable m3( badge anyway!) bmw 3series sat right on my ass on the m4 and stuck with me thru traffic carrying on like a ****er..now I dont really know the car yet so i was taking it easy but I thought I would give it a bit and as I floored it in 5th and pulled away from him easily I thought this is a 15yr old car..simply amazing...what else can I expect to beat in a n/a?

what else can I expect to beat in a n/a?

Just jesting, I drove SteveJ's N/A SWB Slicktop Auto at the pod and got a 15.9 (BTW Steve you beat that yet LMAO, now youve lost a stone (badum tiishhh) you should get a better time)
