At 12 o'clock noon this Thursday there's going to be a two minute silence to

remember the victims of the bombs which exploded last week, during rush hour last Thursday morning. Buses will stop, businesses will stop, everything

still for two minutes. We are organising this on behalf of the Mayor's

office. It's a gesture of compassion and sympathy and remembrance, but also maybe a gesture of defiance - and so there's a thought that wherever we are, we should go out on to the streets, and observe the silence there, in public.

The whole of Britain, standing on our streets, which we will always own and

defend, in silence.

Please pass this on to everyone you know.

Still many cars driving past, how can these people not know about it. Or maybe they don't care. An idiot in a Corsa went by with his subs farting away full volume. We just don't need morons like that around.

Anyway, my thoughts were with the families who have lost loved one's and how these ordinary people, like you and me, went to work one day but didn't come back.

Just come back inside. Bit wierd in Glastonbury, everyone was still pacing the streets, few had come outside. But all the 'Badgerline' buses were still hurtling around. Stood outside Woolworths as they were doing the two minute silence.

Like you, there was some numpty in is 106 racing down the high street with his baked bean can roaring away.

Most people probably didnt know about it.

I only knew about it after reading this page.

I went and paid my dues with the thousands outside Aldgate station, really eerie but was a brilliant show of respect. :D

I work just round the corner so was a bit close to home last week.

All the firefighters and police were there really nice show of respect it was.

How can people not know about the silence - I reckon most radio stations mentioned it on their breakfast shows??

Anyway all of us at work today went outside just before Midday and found our whole industrial estate had done the same thing.

A couple of people put their car radios on for Big Ben's chimes (as Aylesbury is a bit far from London to hear the real thing ;) ) - I was even in a meeting just before, but I told my appointment what we were doing and he joined us as well.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

we held the 2 minute silence at work today - and throughout the distribution network. TBH i didnt realise it was a national thing. Might have guessed tho.

i was on the M25. but i shut the radio off

Maybe not every one listens to the radio on the way to work. Or the time they spend in the car they didnt mention it, or they didnt take a car to work and didnt have access to a radio.

I didnt know about it.

Thats true but!...............................Would you be the first one on the motorway to stop?

I am not (by the way) making fun of the situation. I did actually participate.

its ilegal to stop for no good reason on a motorway.
