My air-con recently blew out its pressure release valve and I need a replacement, according to my air-con man. He takes care of cars mostly, but isn't familiar with 300s.

I have the blown unit which a small part (I'm not so engine-technical!), which is basically a hexagonal shape, 16mm across the flats, about 30mm long with about a 3/8" thread at one end. It screws into a pipe near the pump.

I took it to a NISSAN service centre and they couldn't indentify this part, saying I'd probably have to buy a complete pipe section which included it.

Seems crazy if the valve is all I need, especially if they want to fit a complete pipe too.

Anyone any experience here?

Thanks

John

Exactly what happened to me a couple of years ago. And it needs something like 540psi to blow it

It's not available new except as part of a complete pipe. I was lucky to get a s/h one (pipe incl valve) via Mike Feeney (MJP Trader on this forum http://www.mjpauto.com )

PS: Paul, sounds like you've got a pressure valve that resets, as I believe the later ones do. Seems mine just had the end blown out and has to be replaced.
