Driving to work this morning and the first mile or so the car seemed to be missing. I could just slightly feel it through the steering wheel. After a couple of mile it seemed to clear up. Nothing major, it's just that it's never done this before.

Driving back from work tonight, the idle was high when at junctons, at about 1200 ~ 1300 RPM.

Tried to give the throttle a little tap but wouldn't drop. Made sure the AC was off and just the same. After 5 or 6 taps on the throttle it would drop back to 750. Put car in garage and still 1200. Tried again, to hit the throttle, but took half a dozen times for it to drop to 750.

Any ideas??

Remove the adjustment screw from the AACV and spray some WD40 into the chamber, refit screw and adjust to the required setting. Make sure the engine has warmed up before final adjustment. This normally eliminates idling problems; if not the valve itself may require replacing. As for the misfire, this also could be caused by the AACV as if the valve is failing your engine mixture could be all over the place. After performing the above routine maintenance, if symptoms still persist then disconnect both O2 sensors and go for a drive to see if the problem is eradicated.

The above suggestions have been found to be common causes of your symptom, if the fault is not removed them check all the more obvious things like connectors. Work through them systematical, you will probably find some nastys in there anyway.

If symptoms still persist then read the label and call your doctor.
