Still in the quest to correct my 90 import TT's dodgy (sometimes) idle, i have found something that seems to cure it (apart from turning on the air con!). Ive done the usual throttle body clean etc etc, but still no joy? In the engine bay, by the battery there is a small black box (25mm x 25mm approx). It is screwed verticaly to the cars inner wing. It has connected a couple of small hoses, mainly going to the intake/plenum system and a electrical connector. If I disconnect one of the hoses (the one leading to the plenum), the car idles perfectly? What is this part, what does it do and is it needed? Is this a common problem?
Hi Guys
Still in the quest to correct my 90 import TT's dodgy (sometimes) idle, i have found something that seems to cure it (apart from turning on the air con!). Ive done the usual throttle body clean etc etc, but still no joy? In the engine bay, by the battery there is a small black box (25mm x 25mm approx). It is screwed verticaly to the cars inner wing. Thanks in advance
