This is something which very rarely happens but it happens enough to piss me off.

 

Every now and again my zed goes dead. I'll be driving along and when i press the accelerator nothing happens. The car is still running but it just doesnt rev. I'll come of the accelerator and when i press it again its fine.

 

On the way home from PPS however, this happened and the engine light came on. The car seemed to be missing. I pulled up at the side of the road, turned it off, waited a second or 2 and turned it back on again. Everything was fine after that. I did noticed when this happened that the rev counter bounced up and down erratically.

 

Any ideas?

CAS, might explain the miss firing, and it might explain the tacho getting a bad signal

yes mate got to agree on CAS. Mine did the same sort of thing and luckily a morning spent cleaning all the connectors (taking extra time on the CAS) and all's been fine for the past 2 months :)

Could be a PTU with a failing connection.
