You wouldn't believe how much swearing it's taken to get it this far!

 

The only thing those pics don't show very well is just how much oil is plastered all over the front of the engine/alt/ps pump etc etc.. it's *everywhere*. Looks like it was coming from the crank seal, so it's a good job I'm replacing that - so long as the mating surfaces aren't scored of course..

To clarify Timmy's comment for everyone else - I accidentally set light to the crank pulley er... three times yesterday, trying to heat the crank bolt..

 

OK, so cleaning the oil off with brake cleaner, and then putting a naked flame next to it probably wasn't the best of ideas

To get my pulley off, i used two G-clamps, a piece of 3mm angle iron, and a a socket from the socket set - do the G-clamps up nice n tight, and Hey Presto!!

 

As for naked women - bring em on!!
