How do I measure my exhaust noise level for track limits???

As above...

Looking at doing some track days this year but was wondering how/where i can get me exhaust sytem checked for noise level as certain tracks have noise restriction levels :xxx: :xxx: :xxx:

 

obviously i dont wanna turn up for a trackday only to be turned away again :rolleyes:

One of those shops that is into big bass speakers will probably have an audio monitor of some type for measuring

 

I'm not sure with cars, but usually you measure the DB level from a distance of 1 metre when taking noise samples of a specific item, but i guess you need to either measure from the road or strap the monitor to your exhaust, but im just guessing lol :D

If you call the track day organisers, im sure they know of a company or 2 that will do this for you.

This may sound a daft suggestion but if you,ve got a local model flying club near you they will more than likely have a noise meter as they have strict noise limits and have to be tested , ours have :dance:
