that's just suicidal

Maybe there's something wrong with your 300.

Or the golf felt quick cos it's a rattly little tin box and the 300's plush and smoother.

the only thing wrong with it is a malfunctioning O2 sensor, but it feels smooth through all the gears.

Gotta be a wind up. Ive owned a golf gti mk2 and just cant believe it was quicker than the NA. Plus you get a way better road presence in the Zed. Then again i now have a TT Zed and would never go back to anything else. I must admit though the golf did feel nippy but that may have been somthing to do with my age at the time. Get a TT LOL

well my mk2 golf had a vr6 modded engine dropped in it and it felt more than nippy (beat a porshe boxter in it once) as for my tt zed its a monster

let me sum it up from my perspective,

Golf 1st gear very quick, 2nd gear quite quick, 3rd gear errmm a bit slow.

ZX Slow start but first gear quick, second gear, kinda slow

now i remember the golf changed to third gear at 60mph and i blv the zx changes 1st gear in the forties, if i'm correct, so maybe it is quicker but it just doesn't feel it

the only thing is when the Z changes into second it drops too low in the revs, that's where it needs a turbo for a bit of help, or some kind of device to keep it in high revs....i dunno....

Suffolkzx how does your car feel with the current mods list you got?

I doubt theres many Golf GTIs that could keep up with her. I find mine to be fairly dosile and easy to drive when its a normal go to work day, but push the gas pedal a bit more than usual and it goes and the fun begins.

Come drive my N/A.

I think it will change your mind!!!

Chris..

Its got one fitted mate ............ its called an accelerator pedal. :smash:

Try pressing it till you see a little pointer in front of you go into a red coloured area.

Repeat in all gears.

Result should be in the order of 0 to 92mph in 15sec from standstill.

300ZX NA - 222bhp

MkII Golf GTi 8v - 115bhp (I think)

300ZX NA - 0-60 about seven seconds

MkII Golf GTi 8v - 0-60 not sure - about eight seconds I'd guess.

But the 300NA should be MUCH faster at higher speeds (eg 50-100mph) than the Golf.

Chris..

i just might take you up on that offer. :smash:

I have had 2 golf GTi's 1 MK1 and 1 MK2 in my time and both were piles of crap. Over heating probs. noisey gears, heavy on fuel, (for a small car). And slower than than my ex missus craking a smile. I know they are s'posed to be good cars and everyone else I know who had one loved it. But maybe I was unlucky with mine? I wouldnt drive another if it were given to me?

The ZED (N/A or Turbo'd) is a completely different ball game and IMO comparing the 2 is like trying to get pi55ed on water.
