about 6 month ago i fitted a short shifter and where the shifter connects to the linkage there is a long bolt. so i done this up really tight and then wasn't able to put the car in gear, so i kept loosining this bolt until i was happy it went it to gear easy enough (me being a wimp :D ).

anyway this was fine until last weekend my gears went mad and felt like whatever gear it was in as if it was in neutral so i assumed it was this bolt which today i found out it was.

the long bolt was half out and luckly found the nut next to the shaft so how can i do this nut up without it coming off? i can't do it up reallly tight as it's then so tight i have to use two hands to shift gear and still struggle.

the car is currently in bits at the min so fast replies would be appreciated.

thanks in advance.

you need bushings that fit then. Had similar problems using the bushings that came with the kit. Put stock ones back on and it's fine
