Bit of a long shot I know. but anyone know what the timing should be set at for a 3 litre Ford v6 Essex engine from circa 1978??? Theres 3 blobs on the pulley but gawd knows what they say.

 

Any pointers gratefully appreciated!

Actually sat in a 1970's TVR M Series. Just finished rebuilding it with my Dad but need to get it running better before I can sell it for the next project.

 

I knew PaulC would be the man!!! Which mark to set it to though??? There is just this large amorphous blob on this one, about 1/4" in size, no pointer, no guide, jack all.

Dont suppose you know what the valve clearances are for the inlets and exhausts do you matey?
