Has anyone replaced all their tweed (including seats) with good quality/looking vinyl (or anything else) ?

How hard was it ?

How much ?

Do it or don't ?

Cheers

Paul.

Yep, You'll need about 3 metres of Vinyl, at around £7 a meter from any Material shop.

Take all the panels out of car.

Peel of old tweed (comes of pretty easily)

Use old tweed as Template for cutting out vinyl

Use Evo Instant Contact adhesive (the Solvent version, comes in a tin)

You may find using a hairdryer on some of the curves helps.

Looks sooo much better than nasty tweed stuff, no matter what colour its done in.

The seats are a completely different matter. If you buy the seat kits from somewhere like Zcentre for the seats, then its a matter of removing old tweed and replacing with leather...and a lot of struggling and patience. It can take a while.

Done mine a couple of months ago in maroon vinyl. Looks great and cost me about £50 all in, so well worth it. Takes a bit of time and patience though.

One tip make sure you use a hair dryer on the difficult panels.
