Petrol Smell

Hi all,

can anyone help?

Got a bad petrol smell at the minute. Its coming from the small hole (breather) where you fill up with petrol, thing is the juice looks like its leaking / squirting out of that hole, does this mean to much back pressure in the petrol tank or is it caused by a petrol return pipe???

Any help much appreciated.

Thought it was a closed system in the z? Should get a whooshing noise when you take the cap off.

Is it the standard cap or a replacement???

I believe that the filler pipe corrodes underneath the wing as it's a mud trap - mainly UK spec cars - worth checking...

Sorry for the delay guys.

Dont know if it is standard or replacement. All I know is is that it is red.

Will try taking the cap off.

If you can post a pic of it (or find a pic on the net of one the same) we can tell you if its the rite one or not, if I remember correctly from my old Z its a black cap that screws into place and does not have an air hole in it. But been a few months since Ive seen one as my baby is with some other ******* now :xxx: ! Im not bitter.

The hole is actually on the metal filler neck not the filler cap.

Will try and post an image tomorrow.

Thanks
