Owning my Zed is proving to be very very frustrating!!!! Seems like every problem I have to fix is always gonna cost me small fortune!!!!!

I've had this car since April and its no where near going on the road. Latest problem/stumbling block is because its been lowered ( and I dont have the special tool to raise it) the front tyres are down to the canvas on the inside. So its gonna cost me 2 tyres at £108 each and a set of adjustable upper arms at around £270 plus the bushes on the lower arms arent to clever.

It's all money which I dont have!!!!!!!!! :headvswal

Rant over!!!!

Rich

Yep.

You dont need a special tool to make the car higher, you need different springs.

This is a classic case of people modifying their cars with out knowing the draw backs of it.

I know that it was not you who lowered the car.

unfortunatly these cars are 12years old+ so parts are taking there toll,in all due respect when buying any performance car you should be advised to keep 2k aside for things that are due to go wrong IE turbos etc,i know as i put 2k aside and have reciepts going on 8500 pound not much of that was maintenence mainly mods, because the cars are so reasonable to buy people forget the cost involved, sell them on and everyoneis left dissapointed

It's got these shockers and springs on it (attached) I thought that the purple 'collar' was adjustable coz the shock is threaded? they are hks shockers.

Rich

they are adjustable coil overs.

Yes you should be able to adjust the height of them.

I am sure one of the traders who deals in HKS stuff could order you the spanner to adjust them.

Actually I think they will be the same as every other adjustable suspention spanner.

it basically looks like a hook

Hey cheers srrae. I think it needs raising a bit coz the ride is sooo hard it jarred my foot off the throttle once!!!!! Will still need the adjustable upper arms though, Anyone want to buy one of my kidneys??????????LOL

Skint Rich (Who's idea was it to book a bloody carribean cruise!!!!!(bloody missus!!!)

,i know as i put 2k aside and have reciepts going on 8500 pound not much of that was maintenence mainly mods

eight and a half grand!!!!! Fook me I can only dream of ever being able to spend that much on my Zed. Yours does look the *****cks though mate!

Aye, Demon Tweeks sell them too..

First thing to do is change your user name to "poor300". That should make you feel more realistic? Next browse some of the threads posted by others and see what they have spent and that should ease your pain. Then you could visit this site: http://www.mytyres.co.uk/start.html

They might not be the cheapest but they do some good deals on tyres?

Lastly.............Cheer up Rich coz at least you are the owner of one of the best sports cars ever made...... :mac1:

rich be honest you have been doing dohnuts round tesco carpark hece why your tyres are screwed :D

on a serious note camber is an issue take your car to a pro allignment place who can set up camber toe in/out etc might cost a few quid but lets be fair its cheaper than tyres all the time,i know someone who had new tyres for 150miles after that they were scrubbed out on the inside so get it done sooner rather than later.
