The rear shocks on the Z have been on the verge of MOT failure for the last year - the rear end feels like its skipping out every time i go over a bump, one wheel is an inch lower than the other etc etc....

So just got a set of Koni Sport shocks, which should be here in a day or two hopefully.

Anyway, while the car is in the air with its suspenders down, should I be thinking about a new all-round bushing kit? I see Energy suspension do a kit: http://www.energysuspension.com/pages/nis1.html - anyone had experience of this?

Any help and/or experience with overhauling the suspension would be great.

Cheers

Simon.

(p.s. Got a set of Blitz springs to go on the car too - if that helps)

Skipping over bumpy or broken road surface can also ( more likely too) be caused by worn hicas arms, raise the rear wheels just clear of the floor and with the handbrake off and out of gear rock the wheels by grabbing at the quarter to three position, any movement here will be the arms, there are also smaller bushes at the end of these arms that are pressed into the hub section but it is less likely to be these.

Hicas arms are easily changed but do remember to get the rear wheel tracking checked and adjusted after.

Hi Jeff,

Cheers for the input.

I've actually got a pair of new HICAS arms which I shall be fitting at the same time. (If fact, I've had them since the last MOT but never got around to fitting them - being a dad now if rather a full time job in itself!)

the ES kit is good, firms up the ride a bit but the car feels much taughter(sp?) for it. You'll notice a bit more road noise and you'll hear the diff whining. As for the installation the rear subframe needs to be dropped so it's a bit of a mare! Takes most garages about 2 days to fit the whole kit.

I've gone one step further with solid aluminium Subframe and diff bushes. Not much difference in noise or harshness from the ES bushes but feels even better.
