my pipes have turned up this morning and was wandering if someone could explain to me what happens with the sensors that are currently down there on the exhaust system.

i believe there are two fifferent types, something like the air/fuel mixture and something else but i could really be talking out of my arse smile.gif

all info will be greatly received

many thanks

The cat temp sensors can just be disconnected and tucked up out of the way inside the body.

If you have the recirc connections on your downpipes then I don't know what to do with those - mine didn't have any.

The O2 sensors are on the turbo castings and as such are untouched.

AIV pipes = Chop , Plug and keep out the way of the pipe - simple - sorted - Andy is correct about the rest.

are the recirc connections the same as the aiv pipes? and what do these do?

Making an educated guess having spoken to AndyP on this subject before - yes by recirc valves he means the AIV's..

AIVs = Air Inlet Valves.

At idle, a solenoid is operated by the vacuum in the inlet manifold, and a reed valve is opened allowing fresh air to be drawn into the exhaust just before the CAT. At the same time the ECU adds 7% extra fuel, making a rich burn, the extra fuel essentially burns near the CAT, heating it up to operating temperature quicker than it normally would..

In short = more emissions crap you can get rid of if your attitude to saving the planet is the same as mine biggrin.gif
