After the performance just (the car being all over the road wink.gif) Me and me old man decided its time for some new boots. Anyway what we would like to know its whats the best tyre for your money?

They are stock jap rims btw.

So what are they taking into account the grip (important...very), wear (dont want tyres where money gets lines the road), and price (want something cheap as possible that it good).

So what do you think?

Thanks in advance guys

Clarkey,

I know these tyres get put down, but Fulda's. They are pretty cheap and the grip on them are brilliant wet or dry. I have used them on my cars over the past 10 years or so and wouldn't use anything else. They don't wear too quick either, probably done around 25-30k on my last set. I even persuaded my mate with an NSX to try them and he swears by them now.

everyone rages about the bridgestone S02 and SO3 tyres, haven't tried em - am using P6000s, getting on a bit now admittedly but I wouldn;t buy em again

I agree with MAC1, Put some BFG profilerG's on my wifes Z31(Has standard Z32 wheels) & on my Z32 on 17" seems pretty good so far & very quite on the road. Payed £800 for both sets fitted balanced tracking etc.

Jan...

Nice one Jan wink.gifYou can also get good mileage from them.

Yokohama Parada's are mean! They have the grip and the handling you'd love, and for some odd reason it's extra loud for those tire screeching people scaring sound you crave smile.gif

When I had my lexus soarer there was a guy on the lexus website called ian who is an absolute authority on everything automotive, he has degrees in all sorts of car related things, and he has written some papers on various car components from intakes to...Tyres, they are very informative, and well worth a read before you buy your next set of tyres, the addy is www.lexusclub.co.uk

Clarkey,

I recently went down this road, for me it was a toss up between SO3s and G/Y Eagle F1s, The Eagles won and I'm absolutely delighted with them.

If you still have the Jap rubber on your car they will transform it. I was amazed, the handling is better, the ride softer, the road noise reduced and the car doesn't 'track' at every fault on the road now!

i guess it does not really matter to much but once i went on to so3s or any bridgestone tyre for that matter i will never swap out again.

They have very good road noise unlike the mitchies eh andy i wink.gif

grip superb they even look nice although they are pricey, but hten again who dominates in f1 biggrin.gif (BEARING IN MIND THEY ARE THE ONLY ONES IN F1 TILL THIS YEAR LOL)

My Bridgestone SO2s are so good after what I've had previously I wouldn't consider trying anything else other than SO3s!

LOL - yup, my Michelins appeared noisy but remember the new theory.....

I had a stock exhaust then, they seem a LOT quieter now I've got a louder exhaust! Any tyres on your car Warren will surely be drowned out by your 103.5db exhaust note!

I can recommend the Michelin Pilot Sports though, they are extremely hard wearing and very good in the dry and wet. Will be trying S03s next time to compare. Another bonus of the Michelins is that you can pick them up very cheaply from Costco if you know a member (like me!). 18inch Z rated are only about £120 from Costco. Not bad eh!
