det sensor goes off at start up turn ignition off then on again runs fine what would cause det at start up or have i got the dreaded dodgy det sensor?

if you have a code 54 in the ecu memory then sensor is goosed

Damo, think you either a bit mixed up on what your experiencing or have explained it incorrectly.

 

How do you mean det sensor goes off at start up? do you mean you are doing an ecu test each time? if you are and you are getting code 34 ( sorry fraser_gtti not code 54) then det sensor circuit is at fault, this includeds not just the sensor but the connectors and loom etc.

 

Give us a bit more info if you can.

Appologies! ur right it is 34, DOH!

erm ill explain it best i can (only limited z know how) plugged her into a mates conzult or at least i think it was conzult came up with det sensor at start up 5 starts ago left plugged in and restarted engine no fault. drove fine for a few days then again power loss knock engine off restart fine so i counted the no of starts after that (7). pluged her in again showed det at start up 7 starts ago.cant remember the damn code though ill plug her back in n let ya know. :)
