Something happened while I was driving home from work tonight that got me spooked! I was followed (it seems) from Barking north london through the Blackwall tunnel to south london by two blokes in a black BMW 3 series (85 shape). Now some of you may be thinking christ Trev get a grip, they may have been travelling the same way as you. Well I thought so too, but just in case I jumped a red light and pulled into a petrol station to fill up. The BMW passed the petrol station turned around and pulled up 100 yards or so down the road. After paying I thought right lets see if they follow. I left the petrol station and in the rear view saw the BMW slowly move off to follow and join the queue I was in. Now at this point I thought I would be a good idea to get out of sight cos I didnt fancy showing these people where I live, so at the blackwall flyover the lights ahead where green but about to change so I floored it, got across the lights as they went red and saw the BMW nearly get side swiped as they went around the cars that were in front of them to get across the lights! I flew down the A2 in and out of traffic and got off the next junction and didnt see them behind me. But even now sitting at my computer I still keep looking out of my window just to check on the Zed! I know that tea-leaves like to nick Subaru WRX's and stuff cos they are fast and can out handle the local plod Mondeos I just hope that someone isnt planing to drive round the local Dixons superstore in my Z!

Now can some please tell me I'm not the only one who looks back at their Z after parking, or looks out of the window into the office car park, or driveway before going to sleep!

Right I'm off to sleep (in the Zed of course) as I have an appointment tomorrow with some men in white coats!

Trev.

Scary, I suppose you didn't manage to get the plate...

Nope, didnt think at the time...

nothing para about that at all m8 i've been followed from cruises mainly for the ice inside i think. i sleep downstairs with my z not six feet away from me parked in my back garden and because my garden is now a quagmire im gonna have to pave it so i can drive it round the back again.ask johnny about my parking arrangements at work i pay three and a half grand a year to park in our firms purpose built underground remote entry car park in the centre of manchester. always beware the schneides as i know most of em round here and they'll have a go at it if they think they can get at it and the london vermin are just as bad with twice as many. it doesnt help that ure car look like the one in the readers rides in this months fast car and he's tellin the world what he has in it

shit Trev, i would feel the same way about it that you do. I've had similar stuff happen before, but never one as persistent as that.

Trouble is, even if there is only one person, you cant really front them, as you never know if they are armed or whatever, and it just aint worth it.

Good observation there Trev!

The rear screen on my Z has quite a dark tint and I it makes me wonder if I would ever notice anyone following from behind??

Then again, I don't normally have anyone behind me within a the last 3 or 4 roads of my place so I would probably turn the other way if I did.

I don't want to worry you even more, but someone I know has an Impreza P1. The police think he was followed home a few weeks ago. They broke into the house through their dog flap and took his car and garage keys and stole the car.

It was found at around 10am the next day parked up, obviously waiting until it had cooled down a bit.

Apparently it happens a fair bit with high-spec Mercs, BMWs, Scoobys, etc, presumably to be used in robberys.

On the other hand, maybe he just wanted to race you...

Harsh one Trev,

Why is it Shady characters always drive Old black 3 series Beemers, I bought my last 2 wrist watches from blokes in a Black Beemer outside Yates Wine Lodge:o)

I didn't usually worry about that sorta thing i had my Q style Black Smoke counter measures to act as camoflague ;o)

Craig, you dont need to worry mate, they'd take one look at your Big Fluffy Top hat and that AK on the back seat and Walk the other way, you big Pimp daddy you. ROFL :o))

1st : Get the License plate

2nd : Go around a couple roundabouts...several times....

3rd : You have a cell phone....call the police

4th : Grab the nice Glock18 you have in the glove box, load and make ready......ohhhhhhhhhhh my god...it's an option you don't have....only the bad guys get guns in the UK :->

Zee you

Henri

welcome to the every day occurence in south africa, happened to my mom just last week.

that is really quite shit and it would not suprise me if they were south african looking to hijack you. no offence but you guys over there dont really take that much notice of your surroundings

(i know i lived there for three years)

and it would be easy to be hi jaked.

just be carefull and good luck .

when im back we can go and look for them , do the same to them as they do to you.

hi Trey

i have a friend who had a skooby untill last week.During the night he heard some noises from downstairs when he looked out the bedroom window he saw some youths getting in to the car.. he started to bang on the window

and was shown a base ball bat!!

they took the skooby and used it as a getaway car for a ram raid. The sounds he heard downstairs were made by a little kid climbing in a window to look around for the keys.

The car was recoverd with no damage.

Paranoid too

Pete

Steve,

I shouldn't worry about your rear window tint blocking your view too much - you have to take the car out of the garage to be followed.

Dave

Scary shit! I've been paranoid since a couple of people tried breaking into my Z. I sleep SO much better now that I cleared out the garage.

Andy

Shit, stop this talk.. at this rate I'll stay in.... on the other hand... revs @ 7k and a bit of a roundabout and my traction chucking bangers out the back could easily be mistaken for gun fire!

Shit!

I'm going to sell the house and move into my Z! NE1 know of any back seat toilet convertions LOL

I think this is a very serious and worrying topic as I know that for import cars like my Z, they are easier to sell abroad (not sure why).

I've been followed before but managed to loose the bast***s. I'm always waking up at night to check on the Z.....sad but these days you never know.

I suggest we all get together and form a ZPS (Zed Protection Squad)

I've got a baseball bat...anyone wanna join ?
