Ow .. ow! that's.. all I have to say..

*crosses legs and cries like a girl at the very thought*

At least youre keeping your humor at this awkard time...

I think I would opt for the laser doo dar on a pipe thingy :nana2: as the "golfball down a hosepipe" doesnt sound too appealing

I Had a friend who had kidney stones. They had to be smashed with the sonic thing. But they where so hard they wouldnt break. They had to get the out surgically, through the back, with local anisthetic. He didnt feel them making a small cut in his skin, but he felt the 2 foot steel pipe pearcing through his back into his kidneys.

:(

But that was one of the most extrememe cases you can get

I had kidney stones for 2 years. The pain was indescribable. Tried sonic blaster etc. ...bloody things found their way out on there own....so keep your fingers crossed and keep drinking! Best excuse you could ever have to down a few pints :-)

Cheers

Martin

I had a kidney stone a few years back.

The worst bit was when it moved from the kidney to bladder - about one hour of terrible pain.

Then a year later I 'passed' it out. That was short and sharp so not as bad as the first bit - bit if / when it happens, you're certainly know about it!

Tim thats the stage I,m at now apparently but its been coming in spasms since wednesday, it starts with an ache in the kidney then extends through to the groin a pain I presume to be like appendisitus quite unbloodybarable.

Still they'll hopefuly sort it tomorrow.

Thanks for the good wishes guys

It's not fun and I'm sure you know that!

That stage hit me at 3am and woke me up in bed. I thought it was appendicitis. I decided to call an ambulance. The phone was three feet away from me but I couldn't move to get it. It was so painful I couldn't move. I just lay there for an hour or two then the pain stopped.

Doctors agree it's one of the few things that's more painful than giving birth.

Hope yours get sorted quickly and with the minimum of grief - with the docotors helping it should be ok!

I pee'd one out years ago! Pain was incredible:(

If they give me the stone I'll deffo post some piccies and we'll see whether its a Planters or a KP

Blimey Steve,

Ouch - hope it all goes ok Steve.

This is good cos it'll get fully sorted and then you won't be always waiting for the next bout of pain.

what causes them?

my aunt had one, they sonic blasted it, it eventually just dissapeared, but i think she had to pee through a tea strainer for a few months lol

A build up of calcium salts if I remember.

When I got mine I was drinking coffee all day and 'Great White' cider all evening. This led to constant dehydration and was a contributory factor.

I now have a maximum of one coffee a day and drink lots of water too.

Drinking plenty may still help to move it to the bladder before Tuesday but due to painkillers and antibiotics it wont be :duffer: :duffer: :duffer: what a bast1d, besides I've had that many injections since last Wednesday if I drink to much I'll look like a fookin fountain

Eating certain types of fatty foods can cause stones too.

Most of them can be blasted to a size small enough to "Pass" through. More like "Scrape"

I remember watching a great new invention on tomorrows world about it. LOL
