check the new resistor and path on a multimeter to make sure there is circuit continuity

I have got my clocks stripped at the mo'. I just had a look and the pins are just a tight fit. You could try this. If it dont work you are no worse off. Make sure the "stop pin is removed from the face" Place the needle straight down. As if at the 6 on a (time) clock. push it down. now turn the needle with your finger all the way around to the other side until you feel some resistance then just push it a few mm futher. Now replace the stop pin. let the needle go and it should now rest on the stop pin and work fine. I had the same probs and this cured it mate.

I hope it helps.

You say you held the pin so it didnt come out but did you let go of the pin at any point before putting the needle back on? if you did theres your problem.

how come mate?

i thought it was just so u didnt pull the pin out . i had to let go cos otherwise i couldnt solder the new resistor in change the dial face and all with one hand

the needle doesnt go back in on the stop pin it goes a bit further round, see vinis reply it might help explain it better.

i removed the stop pin first nedle settled in its lowest piont before i attempted to remove it that cannot be the problem thanks anyway

the needle is sticking but u can move it by hand just not free flowing eg when u blow on it before it would shoot round now it crawles round

(Sorry to hoar thread) but after reading all this i am fookin glad i sent off my clocks to MJP to be done. Soz Hellraiser, but at least your saving a bit of money??

sounds like you bent the pin mate. sory. but its a common thing to happen when you do this, which is why i havent done mine yet. give Luke at zcenter a ring, he's done loads of them and may have an answer.
