Anybody got any ideas?

Speedo not working, replaced speedo sender, worked for about a mile and then stopped.

Been crawling underneath it, checked all the wires, give them a clean, checked what I could see.

Went for another drive, worked again for a mile, then started working intermittantly.

Can anyone give me some advice???

UK spec doesn't need a convertor.

Could be the speedo itself then. Apparently they can get dry joints on the PCB's and go a bit flakey.

Mines the same Shunter does yer odo still work ?? Graham can you re solder them or bo you need a new unit ??

Craig

You can resolder them, but it's rather a PITA.

Probably worth checking (cleaning/reseating) the connector that plugs in to the rear of the cluster first as this carries the signal to the speedo unit.

When the speedo stops the odo keeps working so it's a fault with the speedo unit me thinks.. What do you recon Graham ??

Craig

Yep, I'd have to agree with you there Craig.

The odometer plugs on to the speedo PCB so this suggests the actual speed signal is getting to the unit ok.

It's doesn't fail that often but I had a laser gun on me today and didn't have any idea what speed I was traveling at "Apart from the feel of course".. But still not good when your laser detectors going nuts and you can see the cops with the gun up ahead.. Will pull it to bits at the weekend, Let you know if I find anything
