Surely not? estimates please....

I've contacted a few companies about converting my NA to TT with varying prices. My NA engine has blown and thought i'd take the opportunity to think about a conversion. My gearbox is good. I've had a few... let's say "varied quotes" :D :nono:

So I was wondering. How much do YOU think is reasonable for a garage to charge labour for a

(1)straight engine swap for my NA (labour only, iv'e got a recon lined up)

(2)for plugging a TT in instead (labour only. all parts supplied by me)

Please post your labour only guesses or preferably quotes of work you've actually had undertaken. I'm thinking 1/2 days work for two people tops.

try ,, traders section bud , we got some top mechanics here more than capable, .,. ryan and mark,, and others im sure willing to help

okay those aren't guesses they are just suggestions of people to contact. I want to know if anyone has had it done or educated guesses of how much and why. That way I can gauge whether my thinking is correct. Are the high quotes from people who know something the less expensive quoters don't or are the expensive one's over charging. God forbid!! :x: :nono: :x:

Cheers guys. Thats the problem. I've contacted some traders (mixture of people from site and not). I'm pretty sure you don't need to be a Z expert to swap an engine but it seems that there's is a big discrepancy in what people want to charge me. Between Nissan main stealers to local trusted garage to traders on this forum.

(Maybe I should get parts from one place and get other person to fit....)

It's not just the engine it's all the management kit and the wiring that takes the time. You could probably fit the engine yer self but it would never run..
