ok quick questions for all ya.

 

im gonna change the radiator water, anythink special i need to know.

 

its real rusty water so can i like flush loasds of water through to clean it out a bit b4 i put the coolent in?

 

and secondly does anyone know if the HALFORDS ! champion oil filter will actually fit on my import turbo's current thing?????

YES to the second question my tt happy with champion filters

Veilside flush all that crap out with a hose before you fill it up with coolant As for the Halfords filter IMHO! would not trust it.

Yes, flush it through by all means but do refil with a GOOD antifreeze/coolant at the right concentration, you can damage an engine very quickly if you don't.

 

I personally recommend Comma ColdStream pre mixed, The last 5ltrs I bought cost £6 + VAT from my local motor factors.

Yes to flushing the radiator, and

 

No to the Halfords oil filter - if you put it side by side to the Nissan OE filter you'll find that it (the Halfords one) is quite a bit smaller.

I use either the Champion filter, part No C109 (bought one last night) or a pukka Nissan one, not noticed any difference.

yeah, but, i already bought the champion filter - do you mean it fits on, but it is a different size - or if i take the old one off am i not gonna be able to put the champion on at all??

The Champion filter fits....but I would stick with the Nissan one if you don't want to start getting lifter tick.It's not worth the small saving in price IMHO.

oh , and im also wonderin why my fans dont work properly. im in the car yeah, if i put it on windscreen clear. and then stick my hands by the window fans at the front i can feel the air, but no air comes out of the normal fans, - is it posssilble that a tube has been disconnected somewhere and air is been blown in to no where instead of into my cold little face?

Welcome to the wacky world of 300zx Air Conditioning, I get very strange combinations of fan/air/heat/de-mist combinations.

If I hit demist it blows like hell and no air out of the front facing vents, hit air con and low fan speed and it seems to blow out of the foward facing vents, put it on max blow and it seems then to go back to the windscreen and footwell vents.

I think it is an ambient thing with air-con, tends to heat the cabin as appose to your cold nose directly

I know one thing, its BLOODY LOVELY in the hottest part of summer, all the windows up and air con on max-cold setting, give it 5 minutes and its like a fridge inside and everyone outside is dying of heatstroke, I love my zed cabin in the summer, I just go out for a drive to cool-out, Great!!

Cold morning - start car (NO REVS) and the little clickety clickety click you get, sort of a tappetty chatter yeah? thats a bit of tifter lick!

Caused by oil not getting up-top for a couple of seconds. Can also be caused by thin oils, hence some peeps (myself included) shy away from the 0/40 stuff..not a major issue as such but nobody wants a 3 litre twin turbo-charged 300bhp engine that lifter-ticketys LOL

Tap-Tap-Tap, thats for aged ford sierras and male ballet dancers with too much oestregen LMAO
