Now I am pissed off! This was the second time I have tried to mate this Bird Eater, two months ago she killed her mate within 10 seconds of introducing him into her tank.

Today she refused to mate and attacked male number two:( lucky for him I managed to save him and stop her fangs from passing straight through the poor fellow.

However he did lose a leg in the process and you can hear the noise of her fangs as they crunch through it.

Oh well thank fook I am not a spider!

Is that its leg in the corner at the end of the clip ?? if so..fook that....i suppose at least he got another 7 . Can they survive ok on 7 ?? or will the shock/pain hill him ?? !!! Thought they was gettin it on for a sec !! but couldnt tell if they wanted to sh*g or kill each other !!

Yes that was his leg and yes he will be ok on seven as the legs grow back when the spider molts.

LOL can you hear her fangs scraping down the spatula as I stuck it between her and the male? This is her last year beside a Nokia phone to show her size,she has grown since then.

No only has enough venom to cause a little swelling, it’s the fangs on her that will do you some damage as they are almost one inch long.

I handle other tarantulas and a few of my scorpions but I never handle the bird eaters because if they were to bite their fangs are almost 1 inch long and would make a real mess of your hand.
