cnt find the link but its a b**** of a job

remove trim under tailgate (center peice), remove rubber trim on the edge of tailgate, undo 4 bolts (2 near the break light, 2 in the corners of the tailgate).

then if you not too bothered about salvaging it (not worth the trouble), go at it with a wallpaper scraper and pull the b****** as hard as you can starting from one corner. a length of washing line and thick gloves will help.

get a big screwdriver and lever it off! thats what i did yesterday anyway :D

took 5 min - 2 rusty bolts, half a dozen plastic poppers and some silicone was all that was holding it on. bit of persuasion and it'll be off!

thats all iya need to work on this car - a big screwdriver and a big hammer!

ave it!

*UPDATE*

Got this off tonight. 2 bolts under centre trim, np, 2 other bolts near corner that Yaseen mentioned were a mystery. But used a length of that packing strapping stuff to cheese-wire off all the glue. Other than that it was brute force to pop off the other clips. Blimey, tailgate is a catapult now! Job done, v pleased.

does ping up a bit now doesnt it! nearly took me chin off when i first tried it, werent expecting that!

and there was me thinkin my tailgate struts were on there way out!

glad you got it done ok!

Offered up tailgate skin and man, that is a rough fit!! Thats gonna take some work to look neat. Anyone else noticed this?

sorry bud can't help u there - fitted a carbon fibre boot skin from bodytorqueUK. took forever to arrive but the mould was spot on. it was there ast one too - theyr not making any more (think the companies about to go down the pan tbh) and i got the one form their showroom - coupl of scratches, nothing that a couple of hours with meguiars wont get rid of at a seriously discounted price just so they could get rid if it!

Yeah, pretty sure it is one of Luke's. Got it from Phil off of here some time ago.

Nothing a decent bodyshop can't sort out I'm sure............and fookin hell, that is prooving tricky. No one ever gets back to you, they only get one chance in my books. I mean FFS, they deserve to go under if thats how they look after prospective business. It is REALLY starting to p1ss me off!

notice your in beckenham, if you dont mind a bit of distance, theres a decent bodyshop round the corner from me - bexhill, east sussex. i shall be taking mine there when i finally get some work done.
