Guys, thanks for your help. I have managed to leave a message on Peter's phone. Hopefully he'll call me back. My Z is going nowhere until he comes to my place to fix it. After that, I'll be looking elsewhere for a reliable service!!!

please let me know if he contacts you because i have probably left 30 mesages for him to call me over the last 6 weeks

Regards,

alex

If it's of use to you guys - a friend of mine said to me the other day that a garage just off the A127 had an awful lot of performance Nissans in it. I'll call him tomorrow and find out the exact address - you never know your luck

CJ :(

That may be redline imports, scott is very knowledgable and works on a lot of zeds/skylines in southend including mine from time to time.

I think the majority of zed owners in southend take their cars to him, he's a good bloke, takes the time to talk to you even if you just pop in, he's a member of the forum i believe also and has a 300zx of his own

okay guys..peter is refusing to return my calls..I have a beautiful but very sick car that is running on 4 cylinders (maybe)..has a rattle that sounds like the exhaust is about to fall off and had scratches on the bodywork that weren't there when the car went into nisstech.. all this after more than £3000 in peter's pocket..i am truly p*ssed off!

who will take sympathy on me and just fix what needs fixing without ripping me off???

firing on four:

if you unbolt the coil packs you will find a 3inch or so plug lead which connects the coil pack to the spark plugs, thse are approx £6 each new and can cause not to fire, also check the condition of the 3 pin connectors from loom to coil pack, these can get corroded, these are approx £25 for 3 from courtessy nissan in the states(not sure of delivery charge). also connector to the power transister unit on front left of cambelt cover, this supplies the power to the coils. also check if plugs look coked, can be caused by running rich, caused most likely from dodgy connector to temp sensor for ecu located front of engine on water pipe (yellow) replacement from durite available most auto electrics £2 ish.

are you sure its not firring, is there a spark, could be no fuel tro the certain cylinders caused by corroded connectors to injectors, also durite replacemnets.

rattle:

is it coming back of engine at top, but sounds like a manifold blow?

i had this, it was the nut which holds on a pipe which goes from the left side manifolf to the egr (exhaust gas recirculation) valve located at the back of the engine bellow lots of pipes and above the gear box, this is gearbox out to tighten up!!! if its this you will smell exhaust gas in cab and use lots of petrol and perfeormance will be crap
