Whats the most bhp that anybody has heard out of a N/A as i am sure that if properly done up it can have just as much power as a stock TT but without the lagg. ;) I thought i had seen a thread saying Danny at DTA is in the process of modifying a N/A to push out a lot of bhp, and then will be selling the stuff to do it. Correct me if i am wrong. :o

OJ :D i belive Mike Feeney's was the fastest without Nitrous, he spent a lot of money and got very minimal results.

Yeah, i think chopper has some good figures from his NA.

You really have to look to the US though, for highly tuned NAs

i must be getting spoilt, my tt zx is getting the wings put on so was expcting to use our tt soarer, for the week, but my m8 is emigrating next week and sold his car so lent him the soarer, SO ive had to poodle round in the wifes swb n/a this week, and i must say i notice A HELL of a difference, not sure if all n/a's are the same, but i certainly miss my tt, and my mate is so impressed with the soarer he wants to take it abroad, lol so not sure if my waffling helps the original question or not

About 300 BHP when pushed over a cliff

Well I am aiming to be around there by next spring without resorting to the "cliff" mod.

That is the benchmark for a good N/A engine ie 100bhp/litre.

I have just done two simple mods at the moment.

High flow air filter(Stillen... no off the wall comments thank you) :p

Full custom zorst with what I hope is just the right amount of backpressure.

Next on the list is to fit the tubular headers I have bought.

Once this season is over I will be looking to find someone to flow a pair of heads and raise the compression. Also going to add an ally flywheel and full Unorthodox Racing underdrive pulley set.

I guess those mods will then need some re fuelling ecu work.

I think that lot will bring me close to 300 at the flywheel. And I aim to run consistent times in the mid to high 14 sec bracket at the Pod. :nana2:

If that dont make it this country's fastest N/A then I will dig deeper in the pocket and get some cams added! And even them honed plenums!

I know you Twin tubby guys are just gonna laugh your socks off and say just buy a TT car. But I really dont give two fooks wot you think. Iaint buying a TT. :nono:

Nuff Zed!!

Add your own laughter here.........

BTW ... Anyone got any sensible extras to add to the above list??

No sensible extras Pete but I will add my laughter

Seriously though ... I wouldn't mind a na as my daily driver ... and I would have nitrous for sure ...

A pair of turbos? :p :x: :x: ;)

LOL

what about a supercharger

Would any kind of uprated clutch help?? And as for lowering your 1/4 mile times perhaps a bit of weight saving around the car might help???

Personally, if I wasn't such a Prelude head, I'd have a SWB NA as my second car, would go nice with my TT zed (now all I need is an engine and turbos). You could try modifying the nose panel into some sort of big air scoop so the wind was pushed straight into the filter, or maybe a different headgasket to compress the cylinders more (dunno if you can get these for a zed). A completely custom ECU like an Apexi PowerFC wouldn't go amiss either as it would let you ramp the ignition timing right up (I'm guessing you've probably already thought of that).

interesting suggestion Greg, I can tell you are benefitting from working at Z tec with Ryan. Are you offering to supply n fit???

Uprated clutch will come with the flywheel.

You mean find a lighter driver????

Yes I think a full custom ECU will be needed, I do have someone in mind for this, based on the excellent work he has done on my mates Throttle body injected 240Z.

And you are right about the cold air supply situation. More flow of colder air under a ram effect will help.

Sorry, what was that you said? Bit hard to hear you as I'm going too damn fast thanks to my turbos!

On the s/c route - go on, please make it a ruddy great blower sticking out of the bonnet, a'la Mad Max :D :D

Im just waiting to see wot my mates 350Z with the super charger looks like. Large hole needs to be cut in Carbon fibre bonnet apparently!!!

Whats with the TT and N/A thing were all Z drivers and this is a Z forum we should all respects the Zs no matter whether turbo'd or not. IMHO

Its a bit like the "colour" War mate, and you have just walked in as WAR is raging!

Some of these TT people are really quite decent guys in real life.......

Shame they have no taste when choosing a car.

Now come on Pete i'll buy you a couple popadums to make up for the lack of turbos next week :D  :hyper:

I'm sure someone has done a turbo conversion for the 350 bud .. ooops

They have and it produces about the same flywheel bhp as the Supercharged version.

What would be interesting is to have them do a shoot out on the quarter??

Who would win??? ;)

Ok ... off we go with round two of the war!!!!

Next.....

Sounds like you're on the right track to be honest. A good IR manifold and throttle bodies would help if you can get a cold air feed to them OK. You'll obviously need aftermarket ECU for it, but as you're doing it anyway, why not. Emerald is a good choice.

You might want to look at lightweight hi comp pistons and good rods then go down the high revving route, but you will need to do the cams to gain much from the extra revs.

Or you could put a nice big, revvy NA V8 in there. Sounds like a plan ...
