of course not ...but i was thinking cos i realy need the car to go to work ..is about 10 miles each way... is this such a long distance for the oil to get so hot?

:))) yes that's not a bat ideea but thing is i need money to do other bits as well...how much is a gear box any way? :slap:

An oil cooler will cost you just over a oner, maybe a bit less, and a few hours to fit if you take your time.

A new box will set you back about a grand for a good recon.

I know where the smart money is.

My first zed had no aftermarket oil cooler, lasted just under 6 weeks and it cooked the gearbox, i bet i didnt even do 500 miles in it.

mine just cost me £1700 for a recon but did have it upgraded and they had it 5 weeks!!!!!!!

I have just removed an front mounted oil cooler for my old Autobox, it comes with pipes and is in VGC.

£50 including postage if your interested....

The standard autobox oil cooler is so feeble I doubt whether it would make any difference ! cretianly not over short journeys. In fact I did wonder whether the oil flowing through the main rad, as it does, was done in order to heat it up faster ....
