I am really pissed of with people in this country

 

the chap is trying to do some good and typical fecking british are questioning him and saying wrong things,

 

newsreporters are asking him potty questions like arent you just copying live aid??? WTF

 

cant people just be happy that hes doing some good. and prepare to stand up.

 

hes got pressure from people in health and safety etc

 

does this place ever know to give it a rest with there potty talking.. and being negative etc

 

I personally dont agree with helping Africa because I do not believe they want to help themselves. They breed like Rabbits, 10 kids per parent easy. all with different fathers hence AIDS. Even though there warned all the time

 

maybe if they got control of this other problems would fade away?

 

they are offered contraceptive but reject it or dont take it...

 

but I am certainly not going to question anyone for helping people...

Er.. the reason AIDS has spread in Africa is because of the bad availability of needles and bad medical practice. In africa its common that needles are not sterilised, and because of a shortage of syringes and no staff training, one syringe can be used to 'treat' 1000's of people. So if 10000 people go to hospital for a blood test/immunisation, then 10000 people walk out with AIDS, if those 10000 people then have sex (or go to hospital again) then the problem grows.

The likelihood of catching AIDS through straight sex is around 1 in 100 (

some say 1 in 50), so there's no way just a lack of condoms could account for the worst epidemic on the planet, also it doesn't help that the catholic church has been telling african catholics that they could go to hell for all eternity if they use a condom.

 

(Btw. this isn't a flame, I'm just pointing out a common misconception that people have :), also I totally agree with your point on 'Dont give to charity' )

charity begins at home if you ask me............billions in aid is swindled by the very governments he is now trying to free from legitimate debt they incurred when borrowing.......im pretty certain if britain said please let us off we have debt probs we would get laughed so just because you see pictures of starving children im supposed to give a shit.....not me and i dont care i look after myself and my family......*****x to mr do gooder if hes that concerned let him stump up some of his own millions

Its too easy for those that didnt pay the taxes in the first place to say "yea right it off man". But my money went somewhere and I want it back or I want the wabenzies that stole it topped or jailed and stripped of their assets or all of the above. I dont want anyone else with their hands in my pockets without so much as a by your leave.

Same for those eurocrats that take our taxes then try to make us feel good with their ring of stars on projects (we paid for anyway) that they care to bestow on us grateful minions.

The truth is that the problem of poverty in the 3rd world will never be solved. As long as Western governments don’t invest in these countries the problem will stay. For example can you imagine if the markets opened up in Africa? You would get lots of cheap labour and products, the market would be flooded, and tens of thousands more jobs would be lost in the western world, our standard of living would severely drop. No western government would allow this.

Would you take a drop in living standards to eliminate poverty? Sacrifice all the luxury’s we take for granted? That is what it will take to really solve the problem of poverty and I just don’t think people are prepared to drop comparatively high living standard so that people thousand of miles away can have a better standard of living.

By the way, this is only my opinion, sorry if I sound bleak! At least Bob is trying to help.

I'll second that opinion Toolmeister. It did little to help them 20 years ago so what's the point in doing it all again??

 

I'd say the only good it does is raise the pop stars profiles just by being involved and therefore the knock on effect is they sell more records and get even richer as do their record companies!

 

Plus we get a whole day of cr@p on the telly listening to the worst live singing in history!!

I can't say that Aids is caused by Shaggin' or Stabbin' But can say that although I think charity is a good thing for those who need it. It's a bad thing for those who don't? (IMO....) Bob should get up on tuesday morning, Because he don't like Mondays? and go to the bank draw out a few grand and send it to Africa if he is so bothered. Ok he did a great job with live aid but it never done he's "failing" career any harm niether?

I am fed up with this government wanting (?) to help every other fooker in the world but turning a blind eye on all the homeless and suffering people in this bloody country. They spend a national debt on blowing people up then spend another national debt on helping them re-build the homes they blew up in the first place. Then after they decide OK they need help over there. pay them millions then they leave it to charities to get the rest of the funds. So we pay twice (if you're mug enough to get involved)?
