I have had a water leak for about 5 months now.

Changed pipes...this slowed down the loss of water.

Think ive got pipe to tub leaking as white pasty mess on drivers side tub.

Thought id seen drips coming from water pump...

Uses about 1.5Litres every 50miles.

Added Holts "radweld" to buy me sometime.

Released rad cap to check level and found I had pressure in system for the first time in about 4 months.

did 200miles.

It dumped its load (again)

Flushed system....Twice....

Still getting bubbles and white frothy mess now as it only happend since putting in this radweld stuff.

Is this due to leaving in radweld too long?????

or

Is it the Head Gasket?

Im thinking head gasket

These are all in very small clips as I havn't figured out how to edit my clips yet..Sorry Peeps...bear with me please....

Either click and watch in Quick Time or RIGHT CLICK and "SAVE AS" if its quicker for you....

Unfortunately i think its head gasket due to the lemmonade style bubbles and frothy milkshake :headvswal

Opinions please :D

Thanks all

not got time to look at the vids, but you can get a tester (or find a garage that has one) that detects combustion gasses in the cooling system.

you can also use an exhaust gas analyser for the same task it reads high hc Hydrocarbons..just stick the sniffer in the top of the rad NOT in the water and run car up done this quite a few times works well .... i had run out of testing fluid

certainly looks like headgasket or warped head(s), judging from those videos.

That doesn't look good Steve mate ... Not good at all. Lymon is more than likely correct. though.

Good idea to take Paul C's advice though and get it checked out for sure.

I have an exhaust gas analyser in West London will do a check for nowt.

Thanks very much for the offer bud ;)

What a good man

But ive managed to find a garage in my local town that will do it tommorow   :D ....lol

Im gonna flush it through again with a hose tonight and see if I can clear the system of that poxy radweld stuff and then fingers crossed for tommorow :(

CheerZ anyway Topless :duffer:

Thanks chris for letting me use your hose ;)

Well we flushed it several times through the whole system even the expansion bottle and it now seems to have cleared up :hyper:

At one stage we pressure checked the system only to find a 10ft fountain upon release of the hose....this in turn fookin soaked me and amused chris to no end :mac1:

Where ever its leaking from must be under extreme pressure as we couldnt find it.

Im now going back to my original thought of a tubby water pipe leakin and evaporating before dripping on floor as I have a white pasty mark on it.

I use about 1.5 litres of water for every 50miles.

I either have a unique water injection system or its p1ssing out where i cant see....and no...my footwell is dry..Matrix is fine :nono:

Im still gonna have it checked at the garage for combustion fumes in the water system just for sakes sake but I doubt this Head Gasket theory now...

All i know for sure is that you dont leave radweld in for 200miles :nono:

what a :xxx:

lets see how it goes tommorow...

Well....I had it tested with the special doubre firkin (analiser) and it was fine on tickover.

However...

When it was reved at say2-3000rpm the meter rose slightly just clipping into the red area.

I wonder if some of the fumes from the engine had upset it and was giving false readings as we didnt have an air tight seal around it.

I have no bubbles being produced and the system doesn't seem to over pressurise.

Im getting the turbo water pipe replaced tommorow and i'll see if that stops my water loss.

If it is h.gasket when ive got the leaky pipes sorted im thinking im gonna have to do one of those dye tests.

I will be back ;)
